Our local community

The Belgrave and South Belgrave Junior Football clubs are in close proximity.

At Belgrave South Primary School, we make a concerted effort to embrace all the members of our community and work cohesively to achieve common goals.

Our strong community links allow us to include inter and extra curricular activities and partnerships to enrich our students’ educational experiences.

Australian History

The Belgrave South Primary 2012 Grade 6 team worked closely with the 39th Battalion Kokoda veteran, Alan ‘Kanga’ Moore.

The students wrote stories and poems, attended the ANZAC day services at Ferntree Gully National Park and raised funds to support the establishment of a memorial setting at the base of the 1000 steps.

For the efforts of students and staff Belgrave South Primary School was awarded the ‘Victorian Runner up’ and the National winner of the ‘Best Veteran and Community Involvement’ special category of the 2012 ANZAC Day Schools’ Awards.
